Welcome to the San Juan Island Service Scholarship program! 

This program is designed for 8th through 12th grade students with a variety of volunteer opportunities based on student interest and community need. By volunteering 80 hrs. of community service, of which 3 hrs. is dedicated to the SJI Service Scholarship, and with at least 3 different non-profit organizations, you will receive many benefits.

How It Works: 

  1. Read Student Rules/Policy.
  2. Student Registration, click here.
  3. Claim Your Mobile Serve Account- 3-5 days after registration you’ll receive an email from MobileServe inviting you to join.
  4. Create Login Name/Password. *DO NOT use same email/pwd as your school email.
  5. Download the app from your preferred app store and login using your sign in credentials from step 4. 
  6. Start Volunteering! You’re ready to get out there and volunteer!

MobileServe Features: 

  • Home – Your Approved, Pending, or Total Service Hours. This is a great way to track your volunteer status. See All Time for service hours totals or to sort by date. 
  • Activity – Itemized list of volunteer opportunities you have accomplished!  
  • Friends – You can add friends, see +Find Friends to Invite Friends. 
  • Opportunities – See tabs at the top for Schedule, Invitations and to Discover our Community Partners. Invitations is a list of current opportunities. If you find one of interest, click on it, review details, the timeframe, and select SIGNUP. You will receive a confirmation email.
  • Service Resume – You can select dates and community partners for a printout of your community volunteer hours, which is handy for college applications and your resume builder.

Day of Volunteer Service: 

  • You will receive a reminder notification the day before the volunteer event.
  • Note your start/end time. (Lunch or breaks are not including in service hours)
  • Verification, simply turn your phone sideways for supervisor signature to sign off on hours. If you forgot your phone, no worries, you can email your supervisor for approval.

Seniors:  (3 Important Dates)

  • If a graduating senior, you must register on MobileServe by December 1st
  • All volunteer hours must be 100% verified on MobileServe by first Friday of April of your graduating year
  • Your completed scholarship application packet must be signed and submitted by the first Friday of May of your graduating year. Can be dropped off at CCC or mailed to PO Box 3366. See SJISS website or counselor for application.
